Today I wanted to share some of the alternative cards I came up with using the supplies from the kit and some using some other supplies I had on hand (see a list of those supplies at the end of the post).
First up - keeping it simple:
With the one above I used some of the ribbon that is for the gift package, but as you can see below I had more than enough left over to still use for its intended purpose.
ADDING IN SOME ADDITIONAL SUPPLIES
I used the blue twine that was included so I used the Whisper White Twine for the tag.
I used my sponges to colour the back of the white flowers included with the Night of Navy ink and then added Pearl Embellishments. The blue twine used for the bow was included in the kit.
NOTE CARDS
Something I would suggest to have on hand if you purchase the Paper Pumpkin Kits is the Whisper White note cards. They are 3.5" x 5" card - you get 20 in a pack with envelopes for $8.
I used those notecards to make these cards below:
With this card above I used the back of another card to create the smaller background - 3"x4.5" and using my sponges, inks (Peekaboo Peach, Pool Party & Calypso Coral), silicone mat and the negative image from the flowers I created the background.
For this card above and below I cut the front of card base in half to use as a background - this way I'm able to get two cards out of one!
There are lots of ways to find inspiration to create alternatives with your Paper Pumpkin kit...
My one suggest is to put together one of each of the originals and then play with the rest!
Check out the Paper Pumpkin Facebook Fan page and the Stampin' Up! Blog
Each month Stampin' Up! sends an email to all the Paper Pumpkin subscribers and sometimes includes alternative ideas as well - like these below:
Check out what one of their concept artists did when she boxed
up a set of this kit’s cards and tags. (You can pick up the cute wooden spools
at most craft stores.) In fact, there are tons of things you could do to add
your own touch. Go crazy!
Options include creating a fun bellyband—as you see here on
the Thinking of You card—or make your own designed paper using the flower image
from the stamp set. Check out the gorgeous sympathy card for inspiration.
With this kit, the possibilities are truly endless. And
that’s one of the things I love about Paper Pumpkin. Each month you get a box
full of creative goodies that includes everything you need to make lots of
lovely projects—but you can also add whatever else you have in your own
crafting supply to make something truly unique.

And don’t forget, right now new subscribers get 50% off the

ADDITIONAL PRODUCTS USED: As I mentioned above I added a few things from my stash to stretch my Paper Pumpkin kit supplies even further. One tip - with the sponges - you can cut them in half and then in 3 or 4 size wedges so you can get a lot of use out of one plus they wash up easily to be used again on another project!
Ok, these are ALL fantastic! The touches that extra stand out to me, although who's kidding who - I love them all (!), are the stamped sentiment over and over again on the one, how you changed the flower colour on one (LOVE it in the night of navy with the matching twine!), and using the negative to sponge the flowers! These are all so lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks April - I was really happy with the negative sponging as I've never tried it before - so simple!
